Member of the Hämeenlinna City Council, and President of the EPP Group in the European Committee of the Regions since January 2025.
Born on August 16, 1968, in Finland, is a dedicated politician, advocate, and community leader with a strong background in local, national, and European governance. Fluent in Finnish, English, Swedish, French, and German.
She has been an active member of the National Coalition Party since 2000, serving as a Hämeenlinna City Councillor since 2005 and as the Mayor of Hämeenlinna and Chair of the City Board from 2013 to 2021. Her political influence extends to the European level, where she has been active in the European People’s Party (EPP) since 2016 and a Member of the European Committee of the Regions since 2020.
Beyond politics, she is deeply involved in various organizations, founding NGO for parents to support children with autism (in 2004). She has been a member of the Hämeenlinna parish union’s church council (since 2006), she serves as the President of the Finnish Paralympic Committee (since 2021) and vice chair of Region Hame. She previously held the role of Vice Chair of the Association of Finnish Municipalities from 2012 to 2021.
Her lifelong commitment to public service, social inclusion, and advocacy for marginalized communities defines her legacy as a leader and a changemaker.
